AUGUSTA, Maine — The U.N. and other international bodies have called on the U,S.

and Canada to speed up efforts to curb the opioid epidemic.

The U.K. and France said Friday they plan to raise the stakes for a global meeting of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which is scheduled for Nov. 27.

U.A.E. and the U.-N.
