NFL Players react to Josh Moore’s arrest, charging details, charges article Josh Norman has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in the Dallas area, according to multiple news reports.
The Texas Department of Public Safety announced the arrest Wednesday.
The girl’s mother told WFAA-TV that she was sexually assaulted by Norman on Sept. 4.
The mother told the station that she called police, but she was told there was no criminal case against Norman and that he was released from custody after being fingerprinted.
She said she filed a police report and later contacted Norman’s attorney, but he said he could not comment on the case.
The Dallas Police Department said it received the arrest warrant in response to a tip from the mother of the 13-years-old victim.
“Detectives from the Dallas Police Crime Investigation Team have served an arrest warrant for Mr. Norman on a count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, according the Dallas Morning News,” a statement from the department read.
“Norman was released after being released from jail and has been booked at the Dallas County Detention Center.
The Dallas Police Dept. is handling the investigation.”
According to WFTV-TV, the alleged victim is a 13th grader who was not named.
Police said she told them that Norman touched her inappropriately when she was a child and that she wanted to leave school.

“After many months of struggle, I have been granted a preliminary hearing in the case, and the Dallas police department is finally coming clean about the horrible abuse that my son was subjected to, and has continued to endure,” she said.
“The Dallas police officers who victimized my son were never punished, and now that the truth is coming out, the Dallas city council and the State Legislature have my son’s name and information on file, and they are asking the public to hold them accountable.”
Norman’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Norman has been suspended for the rest of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
